Nandi Hills, Bangalore

Nandi Hills or Nandidurg is a hill station, situated 1,478 mt. above sea level and 65 km from Bangalore, in Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka. It gets its name from the ancient Nandi or bull which is meant to be the mount of Lord Shiva. Later developed as Tipu Sultan’s summer retreat this hill-station was patronized by the British too. These hills are the source of the rivers Palar, Arkavati and Pennar and rolling green slopes surround the Amrit Sarovar Lake, making it a popular weekend destination.

Hogenakkal Falls

Hogenakkal Falls or Hogenakal Falls is a waterfall in South India on the Kaveri (or Cauvery) River. It is located in the Dharmapuri district of the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu about 180 km from Bangalore and 46 km from Dharmapuri town. It is sometimes referred to as the "Niagara of India".With its fame for medicinal baths and hide boat rides, it is a major site of tourist attraction. Carbonatite rocks in this site are considered to be the oldest of its kind in South Asia and one of the oldest in the world. This is also the site of a proposed project to generate drinking water.

Gumbaz, Srirangapatnam

Gumbaz is the tomb and mosque built by Tipu Sultan as a tribute to his illustrious father, Hyder Ali (1722-1784 A.D.), after his death.
